   Course Hours

The ProDrive Class A course provides instruction in the classroom, in the field, and in a variety of lab settings. Keep in mind as you compare driving schools that all of ProDrive's parking and driving hours (both range practice and road practice) are what is known as "behind the wheel" hours, or BTW. Other schools may claim to provide more hours of instruction, but in nearly every case the additional time will actually be just observation time thrown into the mix so as to make the total sound impressive. ProDrive's one-on-one training approach eliminates this waste of your time. Remember that at ProDrive it's always one student and only one student per truck for all practice.

Classroom

78 hours

Range / Road

52 BTW Hours Combined *

Lab

28 hours

Independent Study

12 hours

Total

170 hours

Other hour totals are available on a contract basis so long as BMV requirements are satisfied.
* 44 BTW hours are required by the BMV.

Successful completion of the Prodrive course requires you to attend a certain number of hours of instruction. You must also complete three problems that are based upon the real-life problems faced by Class A drivers and that offer a realistic glimpse into the workplace of professional driving. These problems will be completed in class as you work with a small group of your fellow students.

Upon completion of these requirements and receipt of a Class A license, you will be issued a Certificate of Completion. This certificate will be your ticket to a career in trucking; without the certificate many companies will not consider you for employment.
