   Who's Going to Hire You

As in most fields, there's a career ladder in trucking. Individuals new to trucking will many times enter the industry with a company whose driving positions will keep them away from home for several days at a time. This is not always the case it's one well established model. At ProDrive we've found that for every graduate who takes a long-distance job there's one who lands something local. There are simply too many variables to predict with any accuracy the course you'll follow when school is over.

As far as long distance drivers are concerned, after some time in this type of position the new driver often takes a job requiring much less time on the road. After a year or so of experience the individual who wants to be home more often can usually find a job that allows them to be home every day.

Individuals new to any field will have to pay some dues. In trucking this often means spending some time on the road but not always. Of course, some individuals will always gravitate toward an over the road (OTR) position, while others will never work a single day as an OTR driver.

Later in our web site you'll find a list of companies that have hired ProDrive graduates. Look over this list and you'll see that our graduates have enjoyed both local and over-the-road opportunities.
